4th-5th September 2023
Cap de Santes Creus-Litoral Meridional Tarragona
Our campsite was about 100 metres from a small rocky cove which had trail routes along the coastline. We set off on the trail following the path which took us through this protected area. It was stunning.
Walking along, we found this area had been steeped in history. IN world war 1, the sea off this post was a scene of a large number of naval combats between German submarines and allied ships – 7 sailboats and 12 steam boats were sunk between 1916 and 1918 in these waters.
We past the Ametlla battery, hidden in the rocks and the pine forest. This was one of many fortifications built along the Catalan coast during the Spanish Civil War.
After a walk of around ??? We made our way back to relax at the campsite, by the lovely, large swimming pool.
